The California Faucets Kitchen collection is finally here! When they announced the collection in mid-2015, we could not wait to get our displays in our showroom! California Faucets is one of our favorite companies to work with. The quality and design of their products is un-matched as compared to other products in their price point. Like all California Faucets products, the kitchen faucets are available in 34 finishes and you can customize with multiple lever styles. The kitchen faucets are designed in in Italy but finished and assembled in California with the same hands-on quality control of their other products. This collection includes designs that are on trend but reflect a high level of taste and style. There is delicacy and restraint in these designs, while other manufacturer’s go big, bold, and gimmicky, California Faucets keeps it classy. California Faucets has created a collection that is sophisticated and high-end at a reasonable price point. Each faucet style is accompanied by a complete matching suite of bar/prep faucet, filtration faucet, soap dispenser, air switch, and air gap. Check out some of the features you will find standard on their kitchen faucets:
- Solid Brass Construction
- 2-Function, Solid Brass Spray Head
- Rotating Spray Head Joint
- 360 Degree Spout Swivel
- Magnetic Spray Head Docking
- Ceramic Disc Cartridge
California Faucets allows you to customize your kitchen faucet with alternative handles styles and a wide range of finishes. The Culinary Faucets also allow for custom dual-finish combinations for the coil and faucet body. The handle styles vary between faucet styles, some faucets have as many as 8 optional handle styles. The huge variety in finish options is another way to personalize your kitchen faucet. The Kitchen Collection features the all-new Ultra Stainless Steel and Carbon Black finishes which are exclusive to the kitchen products in addition to 32 other finishes, 15 of which are PVD finishes that come with a lifetime warranty against tarnishing.
The California Faucets Kitchen Collection is made up of 5 Series, Davoli, Corsano, Rosalina, Poetto, and Culinary. The Culinary Series is actually a variation on the Corsano and Poetto styles, swapping the pull-down sprayer for a coil-style sprayer. The Corsano Series also includes a Pull-Out style Kitchen and Bar Faucet.
Each Series includes matching Pull-Down Bar/Prep Faucets, Filtration Faucets, Soap Dispensers, Air Switches for Disposals, and Air Gaps for Dishwashers. Handles can be customized on the Bar/Prep and Filtration faucets as well as your main kitchen faucet. Check out the soap dispensers and filtration faucets below!
Pros and Cons of California Faucets Kitchen
Overall we really like this collection. It is nice to have all the different finish and style options. In the interest of being objective, there are a few things that could be improved on. The kitchen faucets all stand at or above 18″ tall (with the exception of the pull-out Corsano), which is a little tall for some kitchen layouts. The faucets also have relatively small spray heads compared to other pull-down faucets on the market, which may be fine for some people and not for others. The actual function of the pull-down is smooth and the magnetic dock secures the spray head in place. The spray heads do not automatically retract quite as well as other pull-downs, though this may be something that is dependent on installation and the placement of the counterweight on the hose. That being said, there are not many other brands that give you the flexibility to create a fully matched Kitchen Suite in this many finishes in this price point. The only other brand that we recommend with this kind of flexibility is Waterstone, and their faucets begin around $1700 list. California Faucets are certainly still a high-end product, but when compared to Waterstone, they will fit more comfortably if you have a smaller budget but are in need of a full kitchen suite or a specialty finish.
All in all, the California Faucets Kitchen Collection is a fantastic product offering and we are excited to see where they go with the line from here! If you are interested in seeing the collection for yourself, visit our Showroom in Raleigh, NC.
